Two People Injured in Alcohol-Involved Wreck in Southern Minnesota
Northfield, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two people were injured in an alcohol-involved crash near Northfield Saturday afternoon.
The Minnesota State Patrol crash report indicates a pick-up truck was traveling east on Minnesota Highway 19 when it collided with a car, also traveling east on the highway, near Decker Avenue in Bridgewater Township just west of Northfield around 2:45 p.m.
The driver of the car, identified as 45-year-old Tonvoneio Bolds of Port Arthur, Texas, was injured in the crash. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident report indicated that alcohol was in Bolds’ system at the time of the wreck.
The four passengers in the car included a 40-year-old man, a 27-year-old woman, a 9-year-old boy, and a 2-year-old boy all from Owatonna. None of them were injured.
A passenger in the pick-up suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was identified as 33-year-old Carmela Perez of Plainview. She was transported to Northfield Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The driver of the pickup, identified as 30-year-old Carlos Rivera also of Plainview, was not injured in the crash. The incident report indicates that it is unknown if alcohol was in Rivera's system at the time of the wreck.
A 14-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl, both of Plainview, were also passengers in the pick-up. They were not injured.
