I guess during the Westminster Dog Show each year they also have an agility contest. You know ALL about the agility contest right? It's the one where dogs compete for the best time running through a course that includes jumping over dog hurdles, through those fabric tunnels, and running up and down various obstacles. There are some really talented trainers and dogs that compete in this type of contest. I recently found this entrant from the 2020 Westminster Kennel Show, that features a Siberian Husky named Lobo. Lobo didn't disappoint, as he basically, did what he wanted, in true Husky fashion.

As you can see it all started off pretty well for Lobo and his handler Alan Davis. Lobo manages to jump the first dog hurdle and looks like he is paying attention. Then it all goes downhill. Alan manages to get Lobo through several jumps before Lobo comes up to the weave poles.

Like all practical beings, Lobo simply wanted to take his time. Lobo then later on decides he is more interested in someone standing on the side of the agility course than the course itself. You can watch the rest to see Lobo's final time.

I wanted to share this video as we own a Siberian Husky mix, and while he is very much a fun dog to be around, he has made it abundantly clear at times he will do things on his own time and in his own way.

Take for instance the recent run of cold weather we have had. Our dog REALLY enjoys it. He will sit and stare at you until you take him out. During his obedience classes as a puppy, he would simply just lie down and not participate if he wasn't interested.

As you can see by the photo below, I had asked our dog to sit, which he did, but he wasn't interested in paying attention to me.

I can totally relate in some not so certain terms with how Lobo's handler feels, but at the end of the day, we wouldn't trade our furball, much like I'm sure Lobo's owners wouldn't want another dog either.
