State Patrol radio dispatch reported a white Nissan, white Infiniti and blue Infiniti were seen racing in the southbound lanes at the 41st St. Northwest exit shortly before 1 a.m. on August 26. Comments in the citation indicate a southbound state trooper spotted the vehicles while he was parked on the shoulder just south of the IBM complex.
The trooper reportedly clocked the two Infinities at 92 mph in the 60 mph zone. The trooper reported the vehicles slowed as they approached the squad car. He said he was initially able to pull over the Infinities near the 19th St. Northwest exit, however the driver of the blue Infiniti took off again before finally being stopped south of Civic Center Dr. by another trooper in the area.
The driver of the blue Infinity was identified as 19-year-old Tamarcus Daniels. The citation says Daniels admitted to street racing but said the Nissan was not involved. Records indicate Daniels has a revoked license.
The citation identifies the driver of the white Infiniti as 18-year-old Dezmand Daniels. He denied the street racing allegation. Both men have been charged for speeding and reckless driving-street racing. Tamararcus was also cited for Driving After Revocation.
