As a kid, I learned fast that I got my bad teeth from my dad's side of the family.  I lost count of how many cavities I've had drilled and unfortunately, I've passed those genes on to a few of my kids who have teeth without enamel.  Going to the dentist is a must for us but unfortunately in Minnesota, many families can't afford it and so kids just don't have the luxury of even getting their teeth cleaned.  Thankfully, Give Kids a Smile is happening again and free dental care is available for kids in need.

About 1,000 dental professionals in over 50 clinics throughout Minnesota are volunteering their services and providing free dental care for kids in need on February 4th and 5th through the "Give Kids a Smile" program.

How to make an appointment for free dental care during the "Give Kids a Smile" program

Here's how to make an appointment for your child:

• Call United Way 211 (just dial 2-1-1) or visit mndental.org
• You can easily schedule an appointment directly with the dental office.
• Zero eligibility questions are asked.
• Patients must be 18 years old or younger and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
