$700,000,000 up for Grabs in Minnesota Wednesday Night
Undated (KROC AM News) - Millions of Americans just went through solar eclipse fever - now it’s time for lottery fever.
The Powerball lottery game’s grand prize has shot up to $700-million, making it the 2nd largest jackpot in US history.
The grand prize was put at $650-million after the Saturday drawing failed to produce a winner. Brisk ticket sales since then have pushed it higher and it’s likely to be worth even more by the time of the Wednesday night drawing. The last time the Powerball game had a grand prize winner was June 10th.
The largest jackpot in US history was also a Powerball grand prize. The $1.6-billion prize was awarded to three winning tickets sold for the Jan 13, 2016 drawing.
Two $50,000 tickets sold in Minnesota for two recent Powerball drawings have not yet been turned in. One was sold in Faribault, the other in Morton.
