Another Air Quality Alert for SE Minnesota
St Paul (KROC AM News) - The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued another air quality alert for Rochester, the Twin Cities and other parts of southeast Minnesota that will be in effect from noon to 8:00 PM Tuesday.
The PCA says sunny skies, hot temperatures, and light winds will combine to cause an increase in ground-level ozone.
Air Quality Index values are expected to climb into the low 100s in the alert area, which is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. This would include people suffering from asthma or other breathing conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic bronchitis, and emphysema.
Those under 18-years-old and those doing extended or heavy, physical activity like playing sports or working outdoors may also be affected by the conditions.
