Byron, MN (KROC-AM News)  The Byron School District today announced the temporary closure of one of its schools in response to an increased number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and contact tracing.

Byron Public Schools Superintendent Joey Page says the Primary School for kindergarten through second-grade students will be closed tomorrow and there would be no classes to allow the staff to prepare to transition to distance learning. Child care will only be available for Byron Intermediate School students from 6:30- 7:30 a.m. and from 2:30-6 PM.

Starting Wednesday, the K-2 students at the Byron Primary School will start distance learning. Page says he expects the school to remain closed for at least two weeks with the target date for returning to in-class instruction set for October 20th.
