Guilty Plea in Deadly Fillmore County Amish Buggy Crash
Preston, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Fillmore County man has pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular homicide for causing a fatal crash involving an Amish buggy last summer.
25-year-old Connor Keene also entered guilty pleas to two counts of criminal vehicular operation through a plea agreement that led to the dismissal of nine other charges, including three additional counts of criminal vehicular homicide and two other felonies. He is scheduled to be sentenced on September 9th.
Fillmore County officials say Keene was driving a car that collided with an Amish buggy on a rural road last August 31st. He was later arrested about 7 hours later after his car was found in a nearby field and his blood-alcohol-concentration was tested at over .184, which is over double the legal limit.
The collision claimed the life of 21-year-old William Stutzman from rural Harmony and injured his teenage brothers, William and Emery.
