Rochester is in for a new treat - a new sandwich shop. Firehouse Subs is taking over the Dickey's Barbeque Pit in the TJ-Maxx Plaza. There are several Firehouse Subs locations in the Midwest including 7 (soon to be 8) in Minnesota. When we spoke with Firehouse Subs, they said they plan on opening as soon as August. They are shooting for the 27th.

On their website, they describe their sandwiches as being different because they steam their meats and cheeses, which "releases a rush of flavors." They then stuff a serving that’s "way over code" on one of their toasted private recipe sub rolls. I have yet to try a Firehouse sub yet, but I'm being told they are incredible!

Mouth-watering subs aren't all they are known for. They also help raise money for a non-profit Foundation, as do you! According to their Facebook page, "a portion of your purchase in 2018 at all US Firehouse Subs locations goes to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, to be used to provide lifesaving equipment to first responders."

Since the Foundation started, it has granted over $33 million to provide equipment, training, and support to hometown heroes.
