Here’s When Fall Colors Will Peak Across Minnesota [2019 Map]
Believe it or not, fall is on the way. I've already started noticing some leaves changing colors (which is ridiculous, it's a little early for that!). But according to this yearly interactive map from SmokyMountains.com, we won't see peak fall colors in Southern Minnesota for a while.
Thrillist says that peak fall colors are actually coming a little later than usual this year. If you take a look at the map it looks like the best time for leaf peeping in our neck of the woods is between October 12th and October 19th. In Nothern Minnesota, the leaves reach their peak sooner. If you want to head up north to admire the leaves changing color I'd suggest going between September 28th and October 5th.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has a "Fall Color Finder" map they are updating on their website along with details and photos showing the current fall color situations at all the different state parks.
I would love to travel to Maine one day to admire the fall colors! I feel like it's a pretty popular place to travel to check out the fall foliage so if you're thinking about doing that, definitely check out the map so you plan accordingly. It looks like almost the entire state of Maine will be at peak around October 5th.
