Hy-Vee Awards $5,000 To A Rochester School

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Hy-Vee, Inc is awarding $75,000 to 55 schools across its eight-state region, and one Rochester school was a $5,000 grand prize winner.

The schools awarded the funds were chosen by Hy-Vee customers who were selected as winners for the Fuel Your School sweepstakes. All 55 customers that won, won prizes up to $500 in value, in addition to selecting a school to support with a monetary donation from Hy-Vee.

Fifty of the customers received up to $200 in prizes and $1,000 awarded to the school of their choice, and then five grand-prize winning customers received up to $500 in prizes and $5,000 awarded to the school of their choice in Hy-Vee’s eight-state region.

Sunset Terrace Elementary School in Rochester was a recipient of one of the grand prizes, and Franklin Elementary School in Rochester was a recipient of $1,000.

In a press release, Hy-Vee stated that this pledge shows Hy-Vee’s commitment to supporting teachings, students, and customers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The other grand prize winners for the Fuel Your School campaign included:

• Franklin Middle School, Springfield, Ill.
• Harrisburg High School, Harrisburg, S.D.
• Odessa High School, Odessa, Mo.
• St. Malachy School, Creston, Iowa

The Fuel Your School sweepstakes was held throughout the month of January, and customers entered to win prizes and award a portion of Hy-Vee’s pledge to a school of their choice. Hy-Vee reported they received more than 200,000 unique entries across its eight-state region. You can see the full list of winners here.
