23-year-old Mohamed Ahmed Abdi of Rochester is charged with first-degree aggravated robbery, third-degree assault and felony theft.
The complaint alleges all four suspects were seen outside of Kathy’s Pub with the victim. Two of the suspects are then seen entering a vehicle.
A surveillance camera then captured footage of the victim and one of the suspects walking west on 3rd St. SW around 1:45 Friday morning.
A second person, later identified as Abdi, is then seen coming up behind the victim and punching him after the first suspect grabbed hold of the victim as the three were in front of the 318 commons building, the charges say.
Abdi and the other suspect then fled north and got into the vehicle the two other suspects previously entered, the court document says.
The witnesses provided aid to the victim and called 911. The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital where he told police the suspects stole $1,000-$2,000 in cash from him, according to the complaint.
He also said he lost consciousness during the robbery. The complaint also says the victim had multiple lacerations to his face and scratches on his neck.
