
Elderly Twin Cities Woman Injured in I-35 Crash in Faribault Has Died

Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Twin Cities woman who was injured in a crash on Interstate 35 over the weekend has died.

That's according to an updated version of the state crash report. She has now become the fourth person to die in traffic crashes on Minnesota roads over the past weekend.

Richfield, MN Woman Dies From Injuries Suffered in Crash on I-35 in Faribault
Emergency responders were dispatched to the single-vehicle crash shortly before 2:00 Sunday afternoon.
A northbound SUV left the interstate and struck a tree in northern Faribault, the state crash report says.
70-year-old Terry Jay Whiteley was identified as the driver. The State Patrol said the Richfield man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for further care.
Authorities identified the passenger in the SUV as Diane Mabel Whiteley of Richfield. She was also taken to the hospital following the crash.
An update to the report, made by the State Patrol shortly before 7:00 Monday night, indicates Whiteley died from her injuries at the hospital. She was 75 years old.
Both SUV occupants were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in the now-fatal crash, the state crash report indicates.

The Rice County Sheriff’s Office and Faribault Police Department also responded to the deadly crash.
