Austin, MN (KROC-AM News)- A teenage pedestrian was airlifted to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle in rural Austin.

Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik says deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the traffic incident around 1:15 Saturday afternoon.
A teenager was driving the vehicle involved in the collision.

18-Year-Old Pedestrian Flown to Rochester After Being Struck by a Vehicle in Rural Austin, MN
The vehicle-pedestrian collision occurred in the 18000 block of 540th Ave., which is on the southern edge of Austin.
Sandvik is describing the pedestrian as an 18-year-old man. He was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with what are described as serious injuries.
An update on his condition is not available as of Tuesday afternoon.
Sandvik says a 17-year-old boy was driving the vehicle. He was not injured.
No other information is available as of Tuesday afternoon. Sandvik says the incident is under investigation.
The Austin Fire Department, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, and Mayo One also responded to the scene.
