Lost Sock Memorial Day

We've all done it - probably dozens of times. Lost one sock. Usually one sock from our favorite pair of socks. Where did it go? The theory is the washing machine ate it. I know for a fact some of mine were hidden somewhere by puppies. It happens so often that a few sock companies are selling mismatched socks so you don't have to be concerned if you lose one!

Somewhere, some time ago, someone decided it was a good idea to pay tribute to these lost socks. Thus, May 9 is Lost Sock Memorial Day. Apparently bars host Lost Sock Happy Hours, giving patrons a free drink if they wear mismatched socks. Remember 'Pin The Tail on the Donkey?' Now there is 'Find the Hidden Sock' party game! Hostess gifts to Lost Sock Memorial Day parties are, you guessed it, new pairs of socks! Whatever you do to celebrate Lost Sock Memorial Day, don't sweat it! Somewhere in the after-world your lost sock is dancing and having a party with other lost socks!
