Whoa-- check your tickets, because a lottery ticket worth over $500,000 was sold here in Rochester!

Two Rochester residents are set to have a very Merry Christmas! That's because they're the owners of TWO lottery tickets worth six figures. It was just last week that the Minnesota Lottery said a winning ticket the 500X Scratch Game was sold at the Kwik Trip store on Marion Road in Rochester. It was turned in for a whopping $100,000 prize on December 9th!

And now, the Minnesota Lottery says an even BIGGER winning ticket was also just sold in Minnesota's Med City:

A winning $526,250 Print-N-Play ticket was purchased from Apollo II in Rochester. That's the biggest Progressive Print-N-Play winner ever!

A post on the Minnesota Lottery Twitter page said the winning ticket was a $5 Crossword. Let's see, you spend $5 dollars and walk away with $526,245 dollars in profit?!? That's amazing!

I wasn't sure exactly where the Apollo II was, so I did a little checking and it's apparently the Apollo Superette convenience store, located at the corner of 4th Street Southeast and 11th Avenue Southeast in Rochester, as the Lottery's tweet confirmed.

The Minnesota Lottery website didn't have information on just WHO the lucky winner was, though that may be due to a change in state law that took effect on September 1st of this year. The names and cities of lottery prize winners above $10,000 are automatically considered private data unless a winner chooses to make their winnings public.
