The Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council (MAELC) is now accepting grant applications to improve agricultural education in Minnesota. The MAELC legislative council has 16 members with the goal of expanding agricultural education in Minnesota. It has representatives from ag industry leaders, ag educators and also from the Minnesota legislature.

"MAELC grants prioritize expanding agriculture, food and natural resource education to attract new and underrepresented audiences while also supporting current programs to maintain quality career exploration opportunities for all students: said Sarah Dornink, Executive Director of MAELC.

There are two competitive grant areas, Common Fund and Strategic grants. Since it began the the MAELC has awarded more than $17.5 million in scholarships, sponsored projects, competitive grants and awards. The deadline for applying is midnight on April 15, 2021. Grant applications must be completed online and you can find the applications at: www.mn.gov/maelc/grants.html.
