24-year-old Ivan Hunter admitted traveling to Minneapolis from San Antonio, Texas to take part in the riots.

After meeting with other Boogaloo Bois members, Hunter obtained the gun and later fired 13 rounds into the entryway of the third precinct building while there were other individuals, believed to be looters, still inside.

Hunter made various statements describing the violence he engaged in while in Minneapolis on social media.

After returning to Texas, Hunter was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by the Austin Police Department for several traffic violations. Hunter had six loaded magazines for an AK-47 style rifle strapped to a tactical vest he was wearing. Officers found three semi-automatic rifles on the back seat, and two loaded pistols in the vehicle.

Hunter was sentenced Tuesday to 52 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

The U.S Attorney’s Office says the Booglaoo Bois “is a loosely connected group of individuals who espouse violent anti-government sentiments.”
