Mayo Clinic One of Top 3 ‘Best Large Employers in America’
Rochester's own Mayo Clinic is getting more national attention after ranking as one of the top three Best Large Employers in America in a new Forbes survey.
The fact that Mayo Clinic is again featured on this year's list of Best Large Employers in America, an annual survey done by Forbes and released earlier this week, isn't necessarily news-- Mayo's long been a fixture on the survey and has routinely been mentioned as a great place to work.
But the fact that Mayo Clinic is rated third in this year's survey IS new. And is great news for the prestigious medical clinic that has called Rochester home since 1889. According to Forbes, Mayo Clinic is described as "a medical practice and research group specializing in treating difficult cases." It has 65,000 employees working on its campuses here in Rochester; plus Scottsdale, Arizona and Jacksonville, Florida; as well as at its healthcare system facilities throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Mayo ranked 9th in the 2020 Forbes Best Employers in America survey, so its third place ranking this year is a nice jump up. In fact, only the Kronos Group (an IT, Internet, and Software Company) and the University of Alabama - Birmingham are rated higher than Mayo Clinic this year.
The 2021 survey was conducted anonymously, Forbes noted, saying: "Participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family, and to nominate organizations other than their own. The final list ranks the 500 large and 500 midsize employers that received the most recommendations," the survey said.
Once again, it's pretty cool that a world-renowned healthcare facility is right here in Rah-Rah-Rochester! When it comes to medicine, you can't get better Mayo Clinic-- it's one of the most prestigious brands out there. And speaking of brands, keep scrolling to check out some OTHER most popular brands here in the U.S. of A.!
