There is no doubt that 2020 was a very difficult year for many people not just in southeast Minnesota, but across the country, but how have the stress levels faired in 2021?

Minnesota has done a relatively great job of staying 'stress-free, as the state was rated as the 3rd least stressed state in the country in the 2021 latest study from our friends at Wallet Hub.

In 2020, Minnesotans were still 'pretty chill' as the same study from Wallet Hub ranked the state as the least stressed in the country.

According to Wallet Hub, the biggest stress for people in the United States in 2021 is money problems. The COVID-19 pandemic was the number 1 stressor in 2020 and has slipped down to 2nd in 2021.

The biggest source of stress for Americans in 2021 is money problems, according to a recent WalletHub survey. The COVID-19 pandemic, which took first place last year, has slipped to second, which makes sense considering the progress the U.S. has made with vaccination and reopening. Overall stress levels are not uniform across the country, though, and certain states worry more than others about specific issues.

To find out which state was the most stressed, Wallet Hub looked at 41 key factors across the 50 states to find out which state was the most stressed.

Nevada took the #1 spot on the list, followed by Louisiana and then New Mexico.

When it came to states that were the least stressed, South Dakota was #1, Utah was #2, and Minnesota followed in line at #3.

When looking at some of the key factors in this study, Minnesota performed very well in many of the "stress factors". Minnesota was 40th in work-related stress (with the #1 ranking being the highest stressed state), 49th in money-related stress, and 48th in family-related stress.
