Olympic Gold Medalist Signs Deal With WWE, Will Defend National Title With Gophers
Minnesota Golden Gopher wrestler Gable Steveson has had quite the year in 2021. It started by winning a National Championship, then headed to Tokyo to win a gold medal, and most recently he signed a deal to take the next step.
According to Gable Steveson's own Twitter account, and the WWE, Steveson signed a deal to be added to the WWE roster.
Because of the new college rules with athletes being able to use their own likeness to make money, Steveson will also be back with the University of Minnesota to defend his National Title with the Gophers.
It is the first ever NIL deal that WWE has signed, and the personality and natural athletic ability of Steveson make it a fantastic fit. Hopefully Steveson will not only be a success in the WWE ring, but also take home another National Title.
