Walker, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in Minnesota are reporting an arrest for a hit-and-run on Sunday that resulted in the death of a one-year-old child.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the little girl was struck by a vehicle in a driveway at a residence near Walker. The incident was reported just before 5 PM.

A news release indicates the responding deputies immediately began performing life-saving measures. Those efforts continued as the child was being transported to a medical helicopter landing zone, but she did not survive.

The suspected hit-and-run driver then returned to the area where the one-year-old was hit by the vehicle and 28-year-old Anthony Goose of Walker was arrested near the scene. Charges are pending in the case, which remains under investigation.

The name of the young victim has not been released.
