Dover, MN (KROC AM News) - A fire chased a rural Olmsted County family out of its home over the weekend.

The Sheriff’s Office says a woman was home with her children when a 3-year-old told her about smoke in an upstairs bedroom. The woman tried to put out the fire and then called 911. She and her children were able to get out safely.

Firefighters from Dover and Eyota responded to the fire at 1623 County Rd 10 just after noon Saturday. The site is north of Dover.

It was speculated the fire was started after a candle was knocked over. There was no estimate of damage.
