Rochester Kids Hold Lemonade Stand To Raise Money For Veterans
These kids are seriously so sweet! Oh, and we're not just talking about the lemonade their selling at their stand in Northwest Rochester. We're talking about the idea behind it.
Two days ago, Jessie Davis of NW Rochester informed me that her kids Joel and Abigail were doing something special. They wanted to raise money to help veterans in Olmsted County with disabilities. They wanted to accomplish this with a lemonade stand that would be running this week!
Obviously, I wanted to write about this amazing idea. In a report compiled in 2015, it was stated that there are about 50,000 veterans in SE Minnesota alone. 91,000 are receiving disability compensation in the state of Minnesota.
Additionally, Jessie told ABC 6 News, "It's kind of a meaningful thing to give back them. This is the least we could do for the vets, as much as they have done for us." Today, the stand is open!
Visit this lemonade stand on the 2300 block of 18 1/2 Avenue NW in Rochester today.
