Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities have released the name of the Rochester man who was severely injured in a single-vehicle crash on a rural road northwest of Rochester on Friday.

Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns says 36-year-old Patrick Odom was alone in his car and was traveling west on 75th Street Northwest near Douglas when he failed to navigate a curve in the roadway and crashed around 10:30 in the morning. Behrns says the vehicle left the roadway and hit a driveway embankment, which caused it to fly about 40 feet into some trees where it came to rest with the front bumper on the ground and the rear bumper in the air against a tree.

Odom was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to St. Mary's hospital. Behrns says, at last report, he was still listed in critical condition. He also says speed appears to have been a significant contributing factor in the crash.
