Rochester Police Release More Details About Body Found Wednesday
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A positive identification has been made of a woman’s body found Wednesday in the parking lot of a Rochester school.
The body was found by a person walking a dog past a melting snow pile in the lot at Gage Elementary School around 4:30 pm.
Police Capt. Casey Moilanen says it appears the body had been there for an extended amount of time, “perhaps a month or two.” He said there was no sign of trauma to the woman’s body.
He says the site where the body was found is not in an area where students go for recess.
Moilanen expects to release the woman’s name and other information later Thursday.
A social media post indicates it may be that of a Northfield woman reported missing about a month ago. The 22-year-old had last been seen in Rochester.
