Rochester Public Transit Changes Take Effect Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Public Transit is notifying users of some temporary and permanent changes that will take effect Monday.
A news release says the westbound bus stop on 2nd Street Southwest at St. Mary's Hospital has been moved from near the Canadian Honker restaurant to near the corner of 2nd Street and 13th Avenue Southwest. RPT is also implementing a permanent schedule change for the 18D and 6D routes serving the Park and Ride lots at IBM and the Fairgrounds. The news release indicates the service levels will remain the same, with 10-minute peak service and 30-minute mid-day service, with small adjustments to timing to improve overall performance.
The temporary change involves the Fairgrounds Park and Ride while the Midway lot is being paved. Rochester Public Transit says commuters using the Fairgrounds site will be directed to park at the previous lot locations until the paving work is completed, which is expected to take about a week.
