Rural Olmsted County Crash Victim Identified

Stewartville, MN (KROC AM News) - The woman found dead in a pickup truck that crashed in rural SW Olmsted County Monday morning was from Hayfield.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman as 35-year-old Tia Ehmke.
The truck Ehmke was driving had been northbound on County Rd 3 when she apparently missed a curve near County Rd 149, went off the road and hit an electrical pole. The pole broke in two and a section struck the driver’s side of the cab.
Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Behrns says it appears she died from injuries sustained in the crash and not a medical issue.
He says investigators are trying to determine if speed was a factor. Behrns says it did not appear Ehmke was wearing a seatbelt.
