Saints Hit 18 3’s En Route to Victory Over Knights on Cool 104
Kaden Vaughn was on absolute fire in the first half, as he hit seven 3's in the first half to lead the Saints to an 80-39 victory over the Kingsland Knights Monday night on Cool 104.
Zach Bubany hit back-to-back 3's early in the first half to give the Knights a 6-5 lead. Then, Vaughn hit 7 three-pointers apart of a 26-2 run for the Saints which put them in the driver's seat to get the victory. Vaughn was pulling up for all over the floor, and everything seem to be falling for him.
The Saints continued to shoot the ball well in the first half, and got some solid contributions from Mark Dittrich and Jack Linderbaum off the bench to help the Saints get to a 51-25 lead at the break.
The Knights just couldn't get their shots to fall. They did a great job of breaking the Saints pressure, and get some solid looks, they just weren't able to knock very many shots down. They got some great play from their post player, Ian Meisner, who was able to grab rebounds, distribute the ball to his shooters, and hustled all over the floor for the Knights.
In the second half, the Saints continued their hot shooting, but did much of their damage near the rim, as the continued to build on their lead. They jumped out to 60-29 lead early in the second half, and finished the game off with a 80-69 victory.
They Saints had three players in double figures, including Vaughn, Dittrich and Linderbaum. All of the aforementioned players contributed to the 18 3's, while Justin Ruhberg, Drew Leistikow and Hunter Johnston all added to the list of players who hit a three in the game.
Bubany led the Knights with eight points and Wyatt Pruter added seven points to lead the Knights. Vaughn finished with 24, all from beyond-the-arc, Dittrich had 12 and Linderbaum had 13 to lead the Saints.
