The Westminster Kennel Club was established in 1877 and since then the club has been hosting their iconic Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. According to their website, it's "the the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the U.S." If you're curious, the Kentucky Derby horse race is the longest - It started 2-years before the dog show in 1875.

The annual dog show, which has been televised since 1948, is held in New York. This year's competition just wrapped up and a local dog took top honors in the sporting group. Learn more and see the 4-year-old English Setter below.

An English Setter from Pine Island, Minnesota won the Sporting Group at the 146th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show presented by Purina Pro Plan.

A press release explained, "Belle, a 4-year-old female, took top honors among the 558 dogs entered within the Sporting Group."

The dog is owned by Van Jacobsen, Lee Afdahl, Amanda and Vito Ciaravino and was handled by Amanda Ciaravino.

The Sporting Group was televised live on FS1 on Wednesday night. You can see full results and watch video from the dog show at westminsterkennelclub.org.
