Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office responded this afternoon to a crash involving a school bus and a semi-truck.

Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns says there were six children from the Stewartville School District on the bus when the incident occurred just before 1 PM on Olmsted County Road 6 about four miles west of Stewartville in High Forest Township. Behrns says none of the children were injured.

An initial investigation has determined the school bus had stopped on the roadway to drop off some of the children and the driver of the truck apparently did not realize the bus was stationary. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the truck ended up jackknifed in the ditch and on the roadway.

Behrns says the incident remains under investigation but he noted there were no indications that alcohol or controlled substances were involved. Additional information is expected to be released on Monday.
