Sheriff – Tests Provided Positive ID of LeRoy Man
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News) - Forensic testing has confirmed the human remains found last week in Fillmore County were from a missing LeRoy man.
Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik announced the positive identification of 35-year-old Steven Holms Wednesday morning. Holm was reported missing in early August. He was last seen alive in Mankato and his vehicle was later discovered parked inside Forestville/Mantorville State Park. Despite search operations in the park by Fillmore and Mower County officials, Holm’s remains were not found until last week.
Sheriff Sandvik says the cause of his death has not been determined. He earlier indicated the initial investigation did not find any evidence that foul play was involved.
