The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office captured him after a standoff at a property near Chester Woods Park, which is east of Rochester.

He was one of two people charged in the theft scheme that court documents say resulted in a more than $100,000 loss for the business.

The chase began after Rochester police responded to a report of a vehicle ramming into a garage door.

A criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court Friday says a woman reported seeing a disoriented person standing in a ditch near her property.

Over the weekend the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office shared a Facebook post about the stolen watercraft. It was said to have been taken from the family’s campsite in Wabasha County.

Court documents suggest the law enforcement officer was involved in a relationship with the accused teacher.

The warrant, filed in Olmsted County Court on Thursday, indicates he has been out of custody since March 10.

The incident began shortly before 4 p.m. with an attempted traffic stop for traffic violations. It ended with the suspect running into the Zumbro River in rural southwest Rochester.

Rochester police also executed a search warrant in connection with the case and discovered another large stash of methamphetamine on Wednesday.

The Rushford man entered a guilty plea in the case in March.
