Two Hurt in Car/Garbage Truck Crash In Northwest Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - You may have received an alert on your phone Wednesday afternoon about a wreck in Rochester that was affecting traffic on a busy NW road.
A garbage truck and car collided on Valleyhigh Dr around 4:30 and traffic in the area was affected for a few hours.
Police say a car driven by a 50-year-old Rochester man was on 30th Ave when he drove in front of the truck and was hit in the driver’s side. The driver had to be cut from the wreckage.
Police say the driver and a 34-year-old female passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The alert was issued by the city in an effort to advise motorists to stay away from the scene.
This marked the first time the system was put to use for a specific area.
