Two Minnesota Cities Are of the 10 Best Places to be During a Zombie Apocalypse
It definitely seems super out there to even consider, but there are so many movies and TV shows about it that you can't help but wonder sometimes, could a zombie apocalypse actually happen? If so, where should I go? A website called Lawn Love made it easy for you and, based on info from the CDC, ranked how well different cities around the US would do during a zombie apocalypse. Two cities in Minnesota ranked in the top 10 best places to be!
In May of 2011, Ali Khan of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) wrote a blog called Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse. The blog was just to be satirical, they don't seem to actually believe that a zombie apocalypse will happen. Ali says in his blog, "maybe you’ll ... learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency." Nevertheless, people were all over this blog and Lawn Love decided to use the blog's information to figure out which US cities would fare the best.
To decide the ranking, Lawn Love used 6 different ranking categories to decide an overall rank. Those categories are public health rank, vulnerability rank, infrastructure rank, supplies rank, protection rank, and mobility rank.
Based on those categories, these US cities made the list as the 10 best places to be during a zombie apocalypse:
10. Hollywood, FL
9. Fort Lauderdale, FL
8. Fort Collins, CO
7. St. Paul, MN
6. Seattle, WA
5. Vancouver, WA
4. Minneapolis, MN
3. Alexandria, VA
2. Bellevue, WA
1. Huntington Beach, CA
Yep, both Minneapolis and St. Paul were among the best places to be during an apocalypse!
Now just for fun, let's look at the 10 worst places to be (from least-worst to worst):
10. Brownsville, TX
9. San Bernardino, CA
8. Enterprise, NV
7. Palmdale, CA
6. Lancaster, CA
