The Faribault Police Department has sent us a copy of video taken from the Faribault Airport after the tornado came through. The footage is surreal.

They would like to remind all residents and visitors that the airport is closed to the public, and only owners are allowed into the airfield. So instead of getting a trespassing ticket, or getting arrested here is a way to see the damage that was left behind from the EF-2 tornado.

The storm didn't just affect Faribault, it devastated parts of Rice County. Throughout the region, heavy rains poured down, floodwaters rose and strong winds and tornadoes left a trail of damage.

The entire city of Morristown has been without power and water. Around a dozen homes have been labeled as uninhabitable. Widespread power failures were reported in Cannon Falls, where officials advised affected residents to stay with family and friends for a few days until power could be restored.

The silver lining in all of this? No deaths or serious injuries were reported anywhere in the region.
