Where to Pick Delicious Blueberries Near Rochester
There are lots of reasons to love summer in Minnesota. The days are longer, there are so many events going on, the weather is awesome (well, sometimes that humidity is a little too much), plus there are so many fruits and vegetables that you can pick fresh!
We have plenty of farms around Minnesota and just in Southeast Minnesota where you can pick your own fruits and veggies. And right now it's blueberry season. I was able to find two farms near Rochester that offer pick-your-own blueberries.
Berry and Bloom Farm - Chatfield
Berry and Bloom says their blueberry picking season is typically from the end of June through mid-August but it all depends on the weather. This year, for example, because of the hail that happened when the blueberries were budding they say they have fewer blueberries available this summer. So call ahead to make sure they haven't all been picked!
Little Hill Berry Farm - Northfield
Fun fact, Little Hill is the only pick-your-own berry farm in Minnesota that's organic! They have only two days marked off for blueberry picking, Wednesday, July 13th and Friday, July 15th from 7 AM - 11 AM. They say on their website that if you don't come right away to call ahead to make sure there are still berries to pick. They may also have a picking day on Saturday, July 16th but it depends on if there are enough berries left.
Another fun activity to do this summer is tubing down a river. Keep scrolling for spots to do that nearby.
