In what both scares and intrigues me at the same time a pirate festival is landing in Owatonna this August. Not sure on the details of this event, as the website is sparse. But the fact that they mention making sure cannons are unloaded and swords must be 'peace tied' kind of makes this festival a little more interesting.

The pirate festival runs from August 3-4 at Morehouse Park in Owatonna.  Saturday it runs 10-6 and Sunday 10-5. It will cost you a few pieces of 8 to get in as they are charging $10 for adults and $5 for kids age 5-15. Pets are allowed if you clean up after them, even a foul-mouthed parrot can stop by.

Other than that it's all guesses as to what will go on. Will they stand as if they were at sea and raise the mainsail? Will they listen to the Dropkick Murphys?

It's anyone's guess at this point. One other thing, you gotta wonder if a lot of these pirates go in on pairs of shoes together, as they often have lost a leg to a sea serpent or other wild oceanic beast.

If you actually know more about the event let us know through the app!
