If you buy your dog Nutrisca or Natural Life, check the label ASAP. An elevated level of Vitamin D has been discovered in the food, potentially causing your pups to get sick. Due to several complaints, the two companies have recalled the food.

While it doesn't seem like an excessive amount of vitamins would be a problem, BUT according to the FDA, "dogs that ingest high levels of Vitamin D may show symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, and weight loss. Vitamin D toxicity can lead to serious health issues in dogs including renal dysfunction."

The recalls involve Nutrisca Chicken and Chickpea Dry Dog Food and Natural Life Chicken and Potato Dry Dog Food. Bags affected have a Best By Date code of February 25th, 2020 through September 13th, 2020. Click here to read more about the recall on the FDA website.
