Alcohol Involved Critical Injury Crash in Owatonna
Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man from North Dakota was seriously injured in a crash involving alcohol use and a semi-truck along I-35 in Owatonna on Saturday.The State Patrol report on the incident indicates 42-year-old Robert Johnson of Jamestown was suffering from life-threatening injuries when he was taken to a Twin Cities Hospital
Johnson was driving an SUV and had stopped along the southbound lanes of the freeway around 1130 in the morning and was pulling back into the traffic lane when his vehicle was rear-ended by a southbound semi-truck, causing both vehicles to crash into the ditch. The State Patrol report notes there were indications Johnson had been drinking.
The truck driver, 41-year-old Travis Harbaugh of Muscatine, Iowa, was transported to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
