April The Giraffe Live Stream Pulled
Apparently April the Giraffe has been an internet sensation for the past few months. I must live in a cave because I had not heard about April until last Friday when my friend Allie told me about her. By the time I tuned in to the live stream from Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York, April's baby boy was already born. I missed out on the excitement.
And now, I've missed the chance to watch mom and baby bonding. The live stream from the zoo has been shut down because April is injured. She apparently has been limping a bit due to an injury to her leg. Zoo officials are confident that April will be fine. Her injury is comparable to a human twisting an ankle, painful but it will heal. Zoo staff are hard at work preparing for the new season. On their Facebook page, a statement reads "We appreciate concern but the bogging down of email servers and other platforms is the exact reason the giraffe cam will need to be pulled".
This reminded me of a time a few years back when the Decorah eagles cam was shut down for a few days because papa eagle dropped a cat into the nest for his babes to feed on.
In any event, congratulations April on the birth of your adorable baby boy! If anyone hears what the baby has been named, please post. I'd love to know.
