Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An arrest warrant has been issued for an Iowa woman accused of breaking into a car and stealing a Rochester woman's purse last year

A criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court charges 21-year-old Emma Cornelison with five counts of Financial Transaction Card Fraud. It is alleged that she broke out the passenger side window of a vehicle parked at the Isaak Walton League Park on the afternoon of January 31, 2001, and stole a purse containing the victim's credit and debit cards.

The court document says the victim later discovered her credit cards were used to make purchases of more than $1600 worth of gift cards in four separate transactions at the two Walmart Stores in Rochester. An Olmsted County Deputy was able to obtain still photos of the suspect from the Walmart South location, along with a photo of the car she was driving that included an image of the Texas license plate on the vehicle. A few days later, they were able to verify the same woman was responsible for the fraudulent transactions at the Walmart North store.

About a month later, the criminal complaint says the deputies assigned to the case spoke with a Des Moines Iowa police officer investigating a similar crime in that city. Photos from a Des Moines Walmart store security camera matched the suspect in the Rochester case. The Des Moines officer also informed the deputies the woman had attempted to cash a check in the name of the Rochester woman for $950.
