Kasson Teenager Apologizes For Causing Crash That Hurt Area Woman
Byron, MN (KROC AM News) - A Kasson teenager has been ticketed for his role in an accident in rural Olmsted County that injured a Pine Island woman.
Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Behrns says 49-year-old Vicki Sloane was driving on 75th St north of Oxbow Park Monday when she swerved to avoid items in the road and crashed in a ditch. She was taken to St. Marys Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Behrns says the items - which included a hunting blind and chairs - had fallen out of a pickup truck in front of Sloane. He says her husband drove to the scene of the crash and found a name on one of the items and told a deputy.
The deputy located the 17-year-old who admitted driving the truck. Behrns says the teen was “extremely apologetic and concerned” about what had happened.
The deputy gave the teenager a ticket for an unsecured load.
