Viola, MN (KROC AM News) -  A motorist crashed into a power pole in Viola Friday and was trapped when electrical lines fell onto the vehicle.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s Capt. Jim Schueller says the accident happened just after 10:00 am near the intersection of Main St and Center St, which is in the center of the small eastern Olmsted County town.

Schueller says the lines were still energized when first responders arrived and the driver remained in the vehicle. It's not known if the driver was injured.

He says People’s Cooperative Energy crews were dispatched to the site.
