The Rice County Fair is just a few days away, officially kicking off on Wednesday, July 21st, and running through Sunday, July 25th. There's going to be plenty to take in and do as it's been TWO years since we've all hung out at the great Rice County get-together. There will be food, art, history, and of course, there are going to be carnival rides. Gold Star Amusement is back running the midway this year and they are bringing something BIG and NEW, and it's going to leave riders spinning. Check out the newest ride coming to the fair this year. Let me introduce to you Vertigo 100!

The Vertigo 100 stands tall at an impressive 94.4 feet off the ground, it's 53 feet wide, and slings riders around and around at 11 rotations per minute according to Arm Rides who manufacturers the goliath spinning swing. The ride holds 24 people at a time, being spun around like they were competing at a dizzy bat relay race.

So are you going to put your ride wristband or Passport to Fun to use by taking on Vertigo? If you do, maybe wait until your done to enjoy some cheese curds or a corn dog.

While this is the newest ride coming to the fair this year, there are still time-honored traditions when you are visiting the town that brought you the tilt-a-whirl. There's of course enjoying strolling downtown Faribault and taking in the historic benches, murals, and even opportunities for you to sit in some tilt-a-whirl cars placed along Central Ave in downtown Faribault.

We are looking forward to re-connecting with you at the Rice County Fair this year! Heck, there might even be some limited quantity daily giveaways that are coming your way this year.
