In a battle of two Top-10 teams, you expect a close game that will comes down to one or two plays. That is exactly what you got as the #10 ranked Houston Hurricanes made a goal-line stand with just eight minutes to go, and then iced the game on the next drive to get a 32-22 win over #5 Grand Meadow.

Houston was in control as the teams moved to the fourth quarter, and the Hurricanes were leading 24-22 after a quick touchdown. The ensuing kickoff was marked at the Superlarks one, and Houston was forcing Grand Meadow to go 99 yards to re-take the lead.

Grand Meadow almost did it.

Even Oehlke broke open a 91-yard one to get the ball all the way down to the Hurricanes 5, but on fourth down at the 1-yard line, a botched snap that was recovered by Houston made all the difference.

Houston was able to take control from there as they milked the clock with running plays to James Hongerholt, Jaytin Millen and Joey Fishel that was capped off by a Millen touchdown run to get the 32-22 lead and win.

The Superlarks came out fast, as Oehlke threw two touchdown passes in the first quarter, one to Luke Speer and one to Blake Kraft, to give Grand Meadow a 14-0 lead. Houston came storming back in the second quarter as they put together two great drives of their own that started with a 66-yard touchdown run by Hongerholt, and then Fishel was able to score from 3-yards out to give their team the lead.

With the 16-14 score at the break, Grand Meadow came out fast again, making some adjustments and put together a great drive that was finished off by Nolan Skiftor to take a 22-16 lead.

Houston came right back when Hongerholt hit Millen on a 54-yard strike to take the lead for good.

The biggest play of the game was Ben Walters who chased down Oehlke on that 91-yard run that looked like it was going to be a touchdown. Because Walters chased him down, the Hurricanes were able to hold the line and get the win to move to 2-0 on the season. Grand Meadow fell to 1-1.

Hongerholt finished with 146 yards rushing, Millen with 104 yards and two scores (1 receiving) and Fishel with 76. Oehlke led Grand Meadow with 133 yards rushing, Skifter finished with 80.
