Crash With Semi at SE Minnesota Intersection Injures Pick-up Driver
Spring Valley, MN (KROC-AM News)- A man from Iowa was taken to a hospital after the pick-up he was driving collided with a semi at a Fillmore County intersection.
The State Patrol responded to the collision shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday. The drivers were the only occupants in their vehicles.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 63 and Fillmore County Rd. 39, which is just west of Spring Valley.
According to the state crash report, the semi was traveling north on County Rd. 39 and the pick-up was traveling east in the southbound lane of Hwy. 63 when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
75-year-old David Maurice Demro of Iona, IA was identified as the pick-up driver and was taken from the crash scene to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver, identified as 56-year-old Patrick John Nesler of Ostrander, was not hurt. Traffic entering Hwy. 63 from County Rd. 39 is controlled by a stop sign.
The road was described as dry at the time of the crash. Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the collision, the report says.
The Spring Valley Fire Department and Spring Valley Ambulance also responded to the two-vehicle crash.
