Two Medical Helicopters Respond to Head-on Crash Near Chatfield, 3 Hospitalized
Chatfield, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two medical helicopters were part of a large emergency response to a head-on crash in southeastern Olmsted County Wednesday night.

Three people were hurt in the two-vehicle crash. It happened around 8:40 p.m.
The State Patrol responded to the crash at the intersection of Hwy. 74 and 190th Ave. Southeast, which is about five miles east of Chatfield.
An SUV traveling south on Hwy. 74 collided with a car that was heading north on the two-lane highway at the intersection of the two roads, the state crash report says.
20-year-old John Michael Townsend was identified as the car driver. His passenger was identified as 23-year-old Alanna Faye Goetzinger.
71-year-old Nancy Marie Mcclellan was driving the SUV. All three of the crash victims are from Chatfield and all were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A Mayo Clinic helicopter and a Gundersen helicopter responded to the scene, however the report does not indicate who or if anyone was airlifted from the crash scene.
All three of the Chatfield residents were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the collision, the report says.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office, Chatfield Police Department, Chatfield Fire Department and Chatfield Ambulance also responded to the crash.
