Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - An Oronoco man who has been charged in a deadly accident involving a Rochester bicyclist has pleaded not guilty.

Court records show 62-year-old James Hanson entered the plea in a letter that was received by Olmsted County District Court on Nov 17th. He had been scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday. No other hearings have been scheduled as of Wednesday.

Hanson was charged with a misdemeanor count of failure to yield the right of way in September.

Hanson was driving through a rural intersection west of Rochester on June 22nd when a bicyclist hit his truck and slid underneath the vehicle and was run over. The victim was 48-year-old Stephen Pieper of Rochester.
