After becoming friends with a family that lost their son to war, Forest came up with a unique and special way to give back to military families.

Army Sgt. Nicholas Dickhut was killed in action during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2012. Forest Letellier became friends with Dickhut's parents after moving in next door to them in 2015. As a hobby, Forest loved wood working, wanted to make something that was special, and something the family could cherish for years to come.

He started by sketching out an American flag. It took some time to get the exact look he was going for, but he says when he found it, it was breathtaking.

He says, "our focus is to get as many flags to Gold Star Families as we can."

You can buy one of these gorgeous wood flags by emailing flags4warriors@gmail.com OR check out their Facebook page. Your purchases help make it possible for them to donate flags to Gold Star Families.
